Pluses and minuses of an underfloor heating in the bathroom.

In the bathroom, due to the way it is used, it simply needs to be warm. Many people, in addition to standard radiators and radiators, choose underfloor heating in the bathroom. What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a solution?

Advantages of underfloor heating in the bathroom.

A bathroom with underfloor heating has many advantages. The greatest advantage is the comfort of use – the temperature in the bathroom should be on average 4 degrees higher than in the rest of the flat or house. With underfloor heating installed in the bathroom, this will not be a challenge. If the bathroom only has a radiator, the floor, despite heating, often remains cold. Warm air always goes up – thanks to underfloor heating, when setting a lower temperature, we will get … a higher temperature. Using this heating method, we are also able to precisely regulate the temperature of the room. In addition, it reduces operating costs. If the bathroom is smaller, floor heating can be used as the only heating source in this room, which also affects the aesthetics – the entire installation is hidden under the floor! The final plus is that water, moisture and wet surfaces will dry much faster in such a bathroom.

Disadvantages of underfloor heating in the bathroom.

Floor heating, although it is not usually a choice that customers regret, has a few disadvantages that must be kept in mind. One of them is the high initial cost of such an investment. When deciding on underfloor heating, you need to think carefully about what the decor will be like and where what will be located, because the heating installation should not run under any equipment. Underfloor heating of the bathroom is therefore associated with interference in the structure of the substrate, but also in the design of the bathroom itself. In addition, in the event of a fault, access to pipes and cables is difficult and a lot of intervention in the floor will be necessary.

If you decide to use underfloor heating in the bathroom, ceramic tiles such as terracotta or stoneware, as well as a stone floor, will be the best finish for the heated floor. These materials are not only beautiful and meet the requirements resulting from the use of the bathroom, but they are also the best heat conductors, thanks to which they enhance the efficiency of underfloor heating.
